Suzuki remains one of the fastest growing brands and is on track for its fifth successive record sales year.
In a depressed market, August saw Suzuki continue to defy the downward economic trend. Suzuki sales are up more than 7 per cent for 2008, easily outstripping the average industry growth of just 0.7 per cent.
“Suzuki continues to be one of the few companies continuing to increase sales,” said Suzuki Australia General Manager Tony Devers.

Suzuki sales are up more than 1000 on the 2007 figure, keeping the company on track for another record sales year.
The Suzuki range of compact SUVs headed the August sales charge.
Grand Vitara monthly sales were up more than 40 per cent, while Jimny sales increased nearly 30 per cent over the 2007 figure.
“More and more customers are becoming aware of the value for money, Japanese build quality and off-road credentials of our compact SUV range.
“With the launch of the new Grand Vitara range we are confident of continuing to increase our share of the compact SUV range.
“The new Grand Vitara boasts more power, more economy and more safety and is the best value for money compact SUV on the market, now more than ever offering added refinement to compete head on with the ‘soft roaders’ while retaining genuine off-road capability,” said Devers.
Swift continued its run as one of the country’s most popular light cars, SX4 sales are up almost 150 per cent year on year and APV numbers are up 35 per cent over the 2007 figure.
